Why does the property height get stripped out on a wiki post

the height attribute is not valid XHTML, so when the wiki engine cleans the markup (to ensure nothing breaks) it is stripped. If you want to set the height of an element, use the attribute style="height: 200px" (for example)

    "Normal" style

We need a "Normal" style to revert a line back to default font, etc. And where does one set up the default?

There is a "Remove Format" button in the editor toolbar. If you select the block of text you want to revert, then click this button, the text should go back to the basic default.

How do I make automatic links to other pages?

We use many documents with specific terms used, for each of the term there is a page with detailed description. Is there a way to automatically make links to detailed page when term is found in the main text?

There is presently no way to automatically link terms in the main text to a page. However, you can create a label (tag) for each of your main terms, and label relevant text with that term. Having a dedicated wiki page for a label (tag) is an idea you might want to suggest on the ideas & suggestions page.

What is the difference between an admin and a super user?

What is the difference between an administrator and a super user?

An administrator can edit wiki settings, can add and invite other users, and can edit other users accounts. There must be at least one admin user. The person who creates the wiki is an administrator by default.

If you have subscribed to access control, a super-user can read and write all wiki content regardless of any access restrictions applied. A super-user does not have administrator privileges.

How do I make the wiki run on my own domain?

Can I make the wiki run on my own domain and how do I set this up ?

Subscribers to premium features (except for SSL encryption) can set a custom domain for their wiki. For example, wiki.yourcompany.com
Wiki administrators can configure this on the Settings > Branding page. It will also require your network (or domain) administrator to add a CNAME DNS record to point your new custom domain to the original clearwiki URL. For example the CNAME record will alias wiki.yourcompany.com to yourcompany.clearwiki.com. If you subscribe to SSL encryption for your wiki, this process cannot be automated quite so easily. If you would like to have a custom domain and subscribe to SSL please contact support@clearwiki.com.

How do I edit the HTML of a wiki page?

Can I edit the raw HTML of a page instead of using the WYSiWYG editor ?

If you hit CTRL-H while in the editor it will switch to HTML mode allowing you to edit the raw markup directly. Hit CTRL-H to switch back to preview your edits before saving.
Note, ClearWiki uses XHTML so try to ensure your edits are valid XHTML before saving.

    What is Access Control ?

Access Control Lists allow you to restrict access to specific wiki pages to individual users, or groups (teams) of users. Each page (or a hierarchy of pagers) can be restricted to read only for users, or access can be revoked entirely so specific users cannot read the page(s) at all.
